What it does

Function, in plain terms.

  • The manufacturer describes sonic vibration plus controlled mechanical exfoliation that temporarily disrupts the stratum corneum.Manufacturer FAQ FDA describes that layer as flat, keratinized, non-living cells, as opposed to the living layers of skin.FDA guidance 2020 We have no independent depth data; this is the manufacturer’s description.
  • Used as the preparation step before a topical cosmetic product. The manufacturer says it supports "more even distribution and enhanced application of topical cosmetic products" and describes it as "enhancing topical cosmetic serum absorption".Manufacturer FAQ We publish no absorption figure.
  • Serum-agnostic: the manufacturer states it "does not require proprietary serums"; the provider picks the topical and matches the cartridge to its viscosity.Manufacturer FAQ
  • Needle-free, and not microneedling. FDA classifies microneedling for aesthetic use as a separate, Class II device type; JUVASONIC is listed as a Class I dermabrasion device.FDA guidance 2020FDA listing

What it is not

  • Not microneedling, and not a substitute for a microneedling device.
  • Not presented for use with drugs, biologics, PRP or exosome products. We discuss it only with topical cosmetic products.
  • No outcome, result or timeline is claimed for the device on this site or in any material we supply.
